Surface treatment

CREPIM proposes to several surface treatment technologies for development projects. Surface treatment brings added value for material to adapt to customers' requirements.

The technology PLASMA OpenAir is an innovative solution of surface treatment used in several industrial fields. It is used to modify surface properties of materials like textiles, natural fibres, metal, polymers and composites. Plasma OpenAir can be used for activating or cleaning a surface and depositing a thin layer to make hydrophobic a surface.

The plasma technology offers an economic solution because it brings a good surface protection either with thin layer or thick (less than 50 mm). Properties that can be obtained, are:

  • Fire properties
  • Mechanical properties (hardness, elasticity)
  • Radiation or diffusion barrier properties
  • Electrical, optical or anticorrosion properties
  • Hydrophobic properties

Surface changes

CREPIM: Hand coating technologies for FR improvment

The activation of the surface and the grafting of active sorts lead to a modification of several properties, by creation of reactive interfaces between a polymer substrate and a chemical precursor. The properties which can be aimed are the following ones:

  • Supply roughness to modify the adhesion
  • Cleaning a surface
  • Electrical insulator or conductor properties
  • Wettability changes

CREPIM proposes also techniques of deposit by Hand Coater and spraying by spray gun to improve fire resistance properties of materials. Paints or intumescent varnish are one of the methods of passive protection against fire for steel structures or plastic matrix.

Nous avons développé un réseau de compétences qui permet de déployer cette technologie sur de nouveaux secteurs, notamment celui des matériaux bio sourcés.
